Discurv - CSR Charter

1. Who we are

A. Presentation

Discurv is a marketing and opinion research institute. Founded by Guillaume David, former mission director in Sustainable Development consulting at EY Paris, Discurv's mission is to recreate simplicity in research: on the one hand, through the expertise of research consultants who support clients in their strategic decision-making, and on the other hand, through the development of an automation platform that improves the efficiency and productivity of studies.

The company’s DNA, which is to free individuals' voices and ensure that the silent majority can express themselves, makes CSR and societal impact one of the major foundations of Discurv.

Building on this commitment and societal actions, and despite being a young company, Discurv also relies on ISO 26000, a recognized standard that provides guidelines and a framework to build its CSR program around social, environmental, and societal pillars.

The governance of this program is structured at the highest level of the company, namely by the founder and the company's strategic committee.

B. Labels

Discurv est détenteur du Label Desi mis en place avec Sugi Research et l'Association Française du Marketing Discurv holds the Desi Label established with Sugi Research and the French Marketing Association (AFM). Nine criteria of "market research" were evaluated in the following areas: better production, better usage, better communication, data protection, impact on 360 satisfaction and the environment. The total level obtained is 3 out of 4.

2. Presentation of the charter

A. To whom does this charter apply

This charter applies to all permanent and occasional employees of Discurv.

The principles contained in this charter are intended to apply to all partners of Discurv, including clients and suppliers, in the context of their contractual relationships with the Company.

The Company's managers have a duty of exemplarity and the responsibility to promote the values and commitments of this charter to their employees and ensure its implementation.

This charter, communicated to new employees upon hiring, is available on the network so that everyone can refer to it. It is also made public on the Discurv website. This charter is regularly updated based on the Company's activities and legislative and regulatory developments.

B. How this charter applies

LThis charter is not intended to recall or supplement all the laws and regulations, conventions, or internal standards that govern the company's activities and its employees.

It cannot address all the situations that managers or employees may face in the course of their activities.

Indeed, many situations have not been anticipated by laws, regulations, or other internal and external standards. In such situations, the principles of integrity, respect, and fairness must govern everyone's conduct, without prejudice to local laws and regulations.

Each employee must thus demonstrate vigilance, reflection, common sense, and judgment. The purpose of this charter is not to exhaustively detail the behaviors to adopt in every situation but to provide guidelines and remind the spirit that should guide every decision. Sometimes, certain situations may not be simple. Any decision must, however, be made in consideration of the principles of this charter and requires asking fundamental questions:

  1. Is it legal ?
  2. Is it in line with the CSR charter?
  3. What is the consequence of my action or inaction?
  4. Would I be comfortable explaining and justifying my decision if it were known to the company or externally?

C. Management of the CSR approach

The strategic committee, as a forum for exchange among its members, encourages and gives its opinion on the implementation and monitoring of the CSR policy.

We commit to including in the strategic committee's agenda at least once a year a review of the actions taken and the action plans implemented under the CSR policy. The company and the managing partners also commit to communicating all information to financial investors to enable them to meet their own commitments and respond to the questionnaire that will be sent once a year.

3. Our commitments as a fair company

A. Respect for individuals

Numerous laws aim to protect the company's direct partners (clients, employees, suppliers) and in some cases, individuals in indirect contact with it.

Discurv ensures compliance with the laws and enforces them, particularly by ensuring that the practices of its suppliers and service providers are consistent with the company's commitments regarding respect for individuals. If this were not the case, the company would implement a corrective action plan with the partner and, failing satisfactory results, cease all relations with the concerned supplier or service provider.

B. Information systems security

Discurv has defined rules for the use of computer systems within the company that are communicated to all employees.

C. Respect for our partners

Beyond meetings organized during the publication of annual results and the General Assembly, the goal is to address our shareholders and the economic and financial community with the greatest responsiveness and transparency, notably by regularly communicating with institutional investors, financial analysts, and market regulators.

The company and the managing partners commit to a continuous improvement approach to ensure that the company and its subsidiaries conduct their activities in conditions that reconcile economic interest and corporate social responsibility.

We prioritize responsible and sustainable relationships with our suppliers and allocate part of our contracts to small and medium-sized enterprises.

4. Our commitments as a responsible employer

Discurv applies the rules of the Labor Code and the Syntec collective agreement (1486) for employees in France.

A. The safety of our premises and employees

We commit to ensuring the safety of our employees daily, notably through:

  • Physical security of our access points
  • Preventive training measures, such as first aid training
  • Fire prevention

B. Employee well-being

We strive to offer employees measures that contribute to their well-being:

  • With a telecommuting charter that promotes work-life balance and more broadly reduces the impact of transportation
  • By considering individualized situations, such as adjusting working hours for those wishing to access part-time work and providing rest days related to the reduction of working time for these individuals
  • By offering all employees a health and welfare plan that provides advantageous coverage and allows them to anticipate the future with peace of mind.
  • With ergonomic work equipment available at the office: dual monitors, ergonomic chairs, indoor bikes, exercise balls, etc.
  • By offering employees a subscription to sports activities of their choice at a preferential rate through our partner Urban Sport Club.

C. Work environment

Attention is given to the work environment, particularly through:

  • Creating a pleasant and friendly work environment, with the establishment of a "Relax" space promoting relaxation and inter-team meetings with the regular organization of HR events in the form of breakfasts or lunches offered by the company.
  • A friendly workspace: formal or informal meeting spaces, shared offices of varying sizes.
  • Festive and team-building events (seminars).

D. Training and development

We implement a human resources policy focused on the performance cycle and the development of our employees' skills: annual reviews, individual support, training plans...

E. Internal mobility

We maintain an approach that promotes internal mobility to retain talent and help them progress within the company, in various sectors of activity and diverse professional skills.

F. Diversity, equal opportunities, and valuing Eeach individual

  • The principles of diversity and equal opportunities are reflected throughout the employee's journey: hiring, training, promotion, compensation, etc.
  • We prioritize job fit and skills during our recruitment process, avoiding any form of discrimination.
  • The company annually welcomes young people for internships, apprenticeships, or professional training contracts to train them and provide them with professional experience. These young people are sometimes hired at the end of their training.
  • We support professional retraining by offering the same opportunities (e.g., two employees in retraining in 2023).

5. Our commitments as an engaged civil society actor

We strive to maintain solidarity links in our professional environment, neighborhood, or more broadly through solidarity or sponsorship actions.

A. Solidarity commitments

  • Providing free studies already conducted by the company for itself, recognized through the DESI label
  • Membership in the Réseau Entreprendre Paris to promote employment and entrepreneurship
  • Membership in the surfrider blue association for ocean protection

B. External Sscietal actions

Here are some examples of actions carried out:

  • Sponsorship expenditures for associations (2022, 2023)
  • Themed days are scheduled in the agenda to raise employee awareness on various topics (disability, gestures and postures, ecology...). For example, as part of a collective company commitment, we offer our employees the opportunity to participate in a blood donation drive.
  • Participation in the Relay Night against violence against women (e.g., in June 2023: a team of six employees)
  • Collaboration with social actors for company events (e.g., catering by Marie Curry)

6. Our environmental commitments

As a responsible actor, we strive to respect the environment and minimize our ecological impact by controlling risks and complying with environmental requirements and all related regulations.

A. Energy saving

C. Waste management

Waste sorting is also part of our environmental preservation actions: sorting packaging, regular waste, and electronic waste. Organic waste, particularly from the coffee machine, is turned into compost.

D. Reducing our carbon footprint

NWe have decided to take the essential first step to improve our practices and reduce our footprint: measuring our greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions by conducting our carbon footprint assessment. A carbon footprint assessment is an evaluation conducted by a third-party expert of direct and indirect GHG emissions (known as the carbon footprint) following a determined and certified methodology.

We commit to conducting this assessment annually and communicating the results.

In addition to the measures, here are the actions we have implemented today:

  • Our study materials and administrative documents are digitized. We have implemented electronic signatures for contracts.
  • Video conferencing is the preferred mode for meetings.
  • The printers are set by default to black and white and double-sided with user validation, which significantly reduces the number of daily prints.
  • We offer our employees the option to receive their pay slips electronically through our partnership with IsiRH.
  • Meal vouchers are dematerialized.
  • We encourage the use of public transportation by covering the cost of transport subscriptions. Our site is accessible by train, bus, tram, etc.
  • We have implemented the sustainable mobility package for all employees to promote "green" and collaborative modes of transport.

E. Employee awareness

  • Conducted a climate fresco workshop with all employees (in October 2022)
  • Sensibilisation aux bonnes pratiques dans le numérique au travers de la charte informatique

7. Our Vision for Tomorrow

We are committed to evolving the CSR policy in place for the well-being of our employees, to preserve the environment while maintaining quality and excellence for our clients and partners. We will extend and strengthen our actions, integrating them into a visionary and comprehensive framework for our employees, our service providers, and our neighborhood.

We will provide internal communications to increase our collective understanding of CSR issues and develop our best practices.dre visionnaire et global pour nos salariés, nos prestataires, notre quartier. Nous allons mettre à disposition des communications internes pour accroître notre compréhension commune des enjeux RSE et développer nos bonnes pratiques.
